Ikebukuro

Ikebukuro - Ikebukuro is one of Tokyo’s major shopping districts and it stops on the Yamanote Line one of japan’s busiest lines. Ikebukuro is also the largest city in the Toshima ward.

What to see in Ikebukuro:

Sunshine City: Sunshine City is a complex of three buildings, sunshine 60, Bunka Kalian Culture Center, and the World Import Mart.

Sunshine 60 is one of japan’s tallest buildings and has a popular observatory which will give you a view of Tokyo from the 60th floor. The cost is 620 Yen for adults and 310 Yen for children. The views are good, but you can getter a better view of Tokyo from Shinjuku of the Tokyo Metropolitan Building which is so happens to be free. Address:3-1-3 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo

The world Import Mart has a planetarium (Sunshine Starlight Dome) and an in door theme park you can check out called Namco Namja. The World Import Mart also has an aquarium located on the 10th floors which houses 20,000 fish.

Sunshine International Aquarium which is on the 10th floor of the World Import Mart is one of Ikebukuro’s most popular spots. The aquarium has not only just fish but seals, otters and penguins.The aquarium is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and costs 1800 yen per adult ticket and 900 yen for child tickets.

Tokyo station: You can use the Marunouchi Subway or JR Yamanote Line

Shinjuku station: You can use the JR Yamanote line/ or the Shonan Shinjuku line
