Tokyo Tower has become a symbol for Japan. The tower which reaches a staggering 332,5 meter’s in height is now the second tallest tower in Japan. The tower was inspired by the French Eiffel Tower, but unlike the Eiffel Tower, Tokyo tower’s purpose is to serve as an antenna to broadcast the main Japanese media channels. However because of Japan’s planned switch from analog to digital television broadcasting Tokyo tower will be replaced by a new Tower called the Tokyo Sky Tree which will be completed by 2012.The tower is painted orange and white to conform with air safety standards. When night hits the tower is illuminated in orange lights which can be seen from around Tokyo.
